Shaaanxo Palette

11/14/2016
Hello again,
Today I want to talk about the Shaaanxo palette.

The beautiful Shannon Harris, from the YouTube channel 'Shaaanxo' has collaborated with BH cosmetics to create a eye shadow and lipstick palette. As a huge fan of Shannon, I was so excited to get my hands on this!
The palette has 9 eye shadows and 9 lipsticks, with a fantastic range of colours.

First of all, the palette is a great design, as it isn't too big or bulky, and it is double sided, meaning that the eye shadows don't go all over the lipsticks as they are on different sides! Shannon said that this was a big deal to her which is why she designed it the way she did. It also has a mirror on each side, for easy application.

The eye shadows are stunning, and can be used to create a lovely subtle day time look, to a super dramatic clubbing look. The colours are all very pigmented, and stay on until I take them off! They are also very blend- able. There has been a lot of comparison with the Kylie Jenner palette, but I cannot compare the two personally, as i do not own the Kylie cosmetics palette- yet!
I love duo chrome colour (bottom middle), as it looks different depending on the base colour you put under it. So cool! I also am loving the reddish brick colour right now for the autumn- very on trend!

The lipsticks are beautiful and creamy. The colours range from nude to pinks to red, and can also be easily layered to make a custom colour! The only down side to this palette, is that it isn't something I would take around in my hand bag, which means I can't top up my lipstick while im out. That however, is my only issue with this palette.

All in all, I think is palette is really good and well worth trying!
Shannon has a few videos featuring this palette in tutorials.

Carli Bybel palette

11/07/2016

If you are a big Carli Bybel fan, you will probably already know all about this palette, and have probably tried and love it!
If not, then you are in for a treat! Carli is an amazingly talented and popular YouTube ‘beauty guru’ and has over 4 million subscribers! She really knows her stuff when it comes to make- up! Carli always looks polished and glamorous on camera, and not only is she stunningly beautiful, but she seems like such a sweet young woman, with a big heart, and I am a huge fan of her and her channel. I'm sure you already know and love her, but if not, you can find her here: https://www.youtube.com/user/CarliBel55

So obviously, like many others out there, I was super excited to hear that she collaborated with BH cosmetics to make this palette, and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it!
The palette was very popular and sold out super- fast! Unlike many, I was lucky enough to get my palette on launch day!
It didn't take too long to arrive either, considering it came from the states.

When it arrived, I was so excited to see it, and it did not disappoint.
While the packaging is not the best standard, which some people may not like. Personally this doesn’t bother me at all, and I think it is really cute, plus it isn’t too bulky as it is really thin. Of course for the price it wasn’t going to have the expensive luxurious feel that some palettes have. I got mine at the launch price of $12.50 with shipping being $8.69, which once converted, worked out to just under £14 for me. (I did not get charged any customs!)

£14 for an amazing palette is a steal in my eyes!!

The palette comes with 10 eye shadows and 4 highlighters. All of which have amazing pigment and blend beautifully. The range of colours are perfect to me, as they are neutral and very wearable. You can create a light every day look or a dramatic evening look with these eye shadows and you can even use the highlighters on the eyes too- they look lovely! The highlighters are really beautiful and glowy. They give a beautiful shimmer to the face, without being too over the top. Of course if you like a lot, they are build-able, and if you light a subtle highlight, you could use a tiny bit of product and a very light hand, and they will still look amazing on the skin!
Of course Carli has a lot of tutorials on her channel using this palette, so go check her out, if you haven't already!

Here are some swatches that I found on the internet. Photo credit: http://www.imgrum.net/user/angelamarytanner/1164077338/1184128294415798207_1164077338

I would definitely recommend this palette to anyone. I think it is such good quality, value for money and the colours are very wearable.
Buy it from here:(you won’t regret it!!)

A non- reccomnendation

11/06/2016
I recently came across a product that I thought was pretty rubbish, and it gave me the idea to do a little series on my blog where I tell you about products that I DON’T recommend. So as and when I come across disappointing products, I shall post about it. This is not to bash any companies at all, it is about giving my opinion on products that I feel were disappointing and a waste of my money. Hopefully this will help people to decide on better products and save money for themselves. Obviously everyone's needs and tastes are different, so what does or doesn't work for me, may be fantastic for you. This is just my honest opinion.

The first product in this non- recommendation series is the fairly new Volume Colourist mascara by Rimmel. Now I normally like Rimmel’s mascaras, and I think that they are an amazing drugstore/ affordable brand, so when I was looking for a new mascara and saw this one, I was excited to try it. Especially because it had a couple of pound off the price in store!

I got the shade 'Extreme Black' as I like my eyelashes to stand out. The first time I tried it I was very un-impressed. I felt like I could hardly see anything on my lashes. However, I gave it a few more tries, because sometimes I do feel like you have to use a mascara a little before you can see the full potential.

Unfortunately, it didn’t get any better. This mascara gave me no length or volume and it looked as though I had no mascara on!! As you can see in the (very bad) before and after picture below, there really isn’t much difference. Mascara on the left, none on the right. I also have to apologise for the bad quality but I forgot to take this picture, so I just quickly took one with mascara on one eye- and no other make up!

Below is a picture of the Rimmel (bottom) compared to a Maybelline mascara (top), which I use daily at the moment. Obviously it is never going to look great swatched on paper, but you can see that the colour pay off compared to my Maybelline mascara is pretty bad, especially considering the fact that the Maybelline one has been open for a while now and should probably be in the bin! (lol- I know I'm not the only ones that does this!)

If you are looking for a mascara that looks really natural for school or work, then this may be good for you, however if like me, you want volume and length, I do not recommend this mascara.

I hope you find this helpful if you are in the search for a new mascara.
Thanks for reading!
Love, Jojo
